This week marks the holiday that brings out even the least patriotic of Americans. Even if you don't watch the Olympics or the World Cup, a good barbeque and some fireworks (oh, and a day off of work) will certainly bring out the American in you.
If you are attending a USA soiree this weekend be sure to bring out your red white best. Here are some small ideas to express your true American spirit.
FOOD
Every good party has food. Otherwise, it's not a party lets be honest.
Sprinkle some stars on some white frosted cupcakes
Mix strawberries and blue berries together for a fruit salad.
Put bananas and rasberries on skewers, laying them out like a flag with blueberries along top.
You could even use a star cookie cutter and slice up some watermelon.
There are easy and creative ways to have some fun with your food for the holiday.
ATTIRE
Common misconception: wearing red white AND blue is a requirement. NO! As long as you rep one color or another you're doing fine. Do you always wear red AND green on Christmas? Yea, didn't think so.
Wear navy bottoms with a white top and red accessories. Or vice versa.
Wear all white, with red shoes.
Try doing polka dots instead of stars.
Mix match and just have fun with it!
