Can I bring my dog? (And other questions answered about the Porch PETicure event)

Our annual Maxim Porch PETicure event to benefit Verona Street Animal Society is coming up on August 24-27. This is our second year hosting the Porch PETicure benefit and we’re bringing back all the favorites—pedicures on the porch for people and safe polish for your pooches, limited edition paw print nail art, doggie bandana styling, and dog grooming, including nail trimming, face and eye trimming, and fur and hair brushing. Nail technicians will also be on hand to give free paw print nail art to already perfectly polished fingers and toes.

We’ve tried to anticipate any questions you might have about attending this year’s four-day- long benefit and supporting Verona. Here we try to answer those questions:

Do I need an appointment?

We’re encouraging everyone to make an appointment so you’re sure to get a spot and don’t have to

wait. However, you can walk in if there’s space. Our porch accommodates up to six people at a time and we’ll be offering porch pedicures during normal business hours Wednesday, August 24 through

Saturday, August 27. We are open Monday – Friday, 10 am to 8 pm and Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm.

You can call us at 585.256.0838 for an appointment or walk in at 633 Park Ave.

Can I bring my dog(s)?

YES! Absolutely! For sure! Please bring your dog! We’d love to meet the pup(s) who melts your heart

and makes your day. Your dog can hang with you on the porch while you’re getting your toes done, grab a drink from the community water bowl, nosh on a tasty dog treat, or receive his/her own polish and pampering. That said, you don’t have to bring your dog or even own a dog to book your Porch PETicure.

Does my dog have to get his/her toe nails polished? Is it safe?

Puppy polishing is not required. If you choose to have your dog’s toenails polished, you can do all toes,

an accent (party!) nail, or nothing at all. It’s totally safe and we will be offering puppy polish in pink,

orange, and green.

How do I take advantage of the dog pampering services?

We will have volunteer groomers on site Thursday. Then on Friday… and Saturday…

When you come in for your Porch PETicure, just tell the front desk or nail technician that you’re

interested in having your dog groomed. They’ll introduce you and your pup to the onsite groomer. While you’re getting pretty polished toes (and raising money for a great cause), your dog will be taken care of, too.

How will Verona use this donation?

The funds raised during the four day Porch PETicure event will be given directly to the Verona to be used for the Spay/Neuter program, Adoption Program, Microchip Identification, Enrichment Program, and Foster Program.

Do I have to have a pedicure to donate to Verona?

Not at all! We do encourage you to pamper yourself but it's not necessary. We have a donation jar at our front desk and will be taking donations throughout August for Verona. Feel free to stop by during the event, make your donation and take advantage of the complimentary services provided by the groomers donating their time. Also, we will be taking non-monetary donations that are listed HERE on the Verona web-site at the salon through August.
