How to Get the Type of “Resting Face” You Really Want

How to Get the Type of “Resting Face” You Really Want.

What relaxes you? Is it an amazing massage, a warm beach and a cool drink, or a hot shower followed by a soft blanket and a good book? Maybe the ultimate in relaxation for you is a facial.

It makes sense. Facials are incredibly relaxing. In fact one of the major benefits of a facial is the calming effect that occurs through deep exfoliation, facial massage, and aroma therapy, which are included with all Maxim Spa and Salon facials. They’re also incredibly necessary given the amount of sun damage most faces incur throughout their lifetime.

Facials come in many different forms, but ultimately most people are interested in them for: Anti-Aging, Brightening, Hydration, and for Treating Acne Prone Skin.

The great thing about skin therapists at Maxim Spa and Salon is that they’re

also mixologists! What that means it that they’re able to create a customized

facial for you with Dermalogica products–cleansers, exfoliators, moisturizers,

peels, masks, and serums–to give your skin exactly what it needs to stay healthy

and look its best.

Maxim offers the latest in skincare science, including Ion Active treatments that

treat acne, dehydration, and hyper-pigmentation. They also super concentrated

serums with retinal or hydraulic acid to combat aging through deep moisturizing

and wrinkle-plumping—replenishing what skin has naturally lost over time.

It’s best to set up a consultation with a skin therapist so that they can create a

plan to help you keep your skin healthy.

Maxim Skin Therapist Brittany says that ideally most people should get a facial

every month because on average that’s how fast skin cells turnover in the body.

She also always recommends a facial in the spring to all her clients to re-hydrate after a long Rochester winter.

Growing up, Brittany suffered from acne that’s why she loves helping people with their skin now. Check out Brittany’s favorite skin product for your face: Daily Microfoliant by Dermalogica is a rice based exfoliating scrub that’s actually a powder so it’s gentle on your skin and can be used every day to brighten and polish. Daily Microfoliant is sold at the front desk at Maxim.

Expert Tip:

Maxim skin therapist Brittany says that any product you use on your face for hydration and age defiance can also be used on the thin skin of your neck to keep it looking young, healthy, and toned.

“In the winter there is a perfect storm of conditions that wreak havoc on people’s skin—cold, dry air combined with lack of hydration can be very unforgiving to the skin on your face,” says Brittany. “We have many women that come in complaining of flaky, dull skin this time of year and we can help!” In honor of Mother’s Day, Maxim is offering a special all month long where people can chose from one of two facial packages for mom, including:

-Save $150 when purchasing a package of 6 facials for $275

-Save $76 when purchasing a package of 3 facials for $149

Brittany says that getting a facial is the perfect way for moms to relax, focus on themselves, and feel good. Upon entering the upstairs of the salon where all skin and spa treatments take place, moms will be given a robe and asked to lay comfortably on a spa bed. Lavender aroma therapy will help them relax as skin is cleansed, exfoliated, massaged, moisturized and toned.

(Shhhh! It’s even a great place to catch a nap.)

Maxim facial services range in price from $25 to $95 and include a variety of treatments and length of services. If you’re interested in Maxim facials, facial series packages, or gift cards, contact us at 585.256.0838 or visit maximspaandsalon.com.
