We have thought long & hard on how to respond to this post about our business, anyone who knows me personally knows I went from steaming hot angry to frustrated over being accused of not having regards or respect for our military. I married into a military family, my husband serving in 2 wars & my father-in-law not only serving in Vietnam but losing his childhood best friend to the war at only 19. My business partner comes from a military family, her dad served & she spent her childhood moving between foreign bases around the world. That said, one thing that has been instilled in me by my husband is the respect for the flag. I know it is to ALWAYS have its own light, never be disrespected, torn, dragged, ect.. The flag we chose to fly was NOT an american flag it only had 6 stripes, not 13.

In no way, was our gay pride flag purchased to disrespect anyone but simply purchased to support our Gay community just like we support ALL people regardless of age, race, sexual preference or gender. Who knew simply typing “gay pride flag” into my Amazon app & picking the one with free 2 day shipping would cause such an uproar that this man felt the need to post such a distasteful post about our business & leave a threatening VM at the salon. Tim Spina, it is my understanding of your VM that you will no longer be a client of ours, nor will your wife or any family. I understand you blocked your # & failed to leave your identity or contact info as in hopes your threat would cause us to remove the flag. In fact, the truth is, you are not nor have ever been a client of our establishment, nor has your wife. Thank FB for the handy link to view your name & family members & modern technology in our salon to simply plug in your names to verify you have never been here. You will notice the flag is down, not because of you or your message but because our CHOICE (as Americans) was to proudly display our support for the supreme court ruling on Gay marriage over the weekend. If you happen to come down on July 18th for the Pride Parade it will be flying high in support that day also. If you would like, we offer pedicures on the porch & you can have a front row seat to view the parade while getting your toes done. Even though your VM went on & on about how you have nothing against the gay community this post SCREAMS a very different opinion. In closing I would like to thank you for the publicity because as they say…even bad publicity is publicity ;)
